Excellence in Special Needs Leadership
Mr Stephen Khooe Lerata
“Learn from others”
Mr Lerata says many people believe that people with disabilities can’t do anything, when in reality they have so much to offer. He says the only difference between “normal” and special needs children is the physical barrier.
Since his arrival, a lot has changed. Grade 12 classes were introduced for blind, and deaf learners, and sign language is now taught. The ability to see their potential and making a difference in their lives is what is important to him.
