All systems go for Rand Water’s planned maintenance project

Rand Water is continuing with its planned maintenance project aimed at enhancing infrastructure and ensuring the long-term sustainability of water supply.

Makenosi Maroo, spokesperson for the water utility, explained that the project will involve replacing multiple valves at important facilities including the Vereeniging water treatment plant, Eikenhof booster pumping station, Zuikerbosch water treatment plant, and conducting work on electrical boards at the Lethabo pumping station.

Maroo emphasized that the refurbishments and upgrades are part of the utility’s proactive maintenance strategy.

The scheduled maintenance is set to commence at 7pm on Tuesday and conclude at 5am on Friday.

“Some residents within the Rustenburg local municipality, Mogale City local municipality and the Rand West local municipality will experience intermittent water supply during the implementation of the project,” Maroo said.

Rand Water has reassured residents impacted by the maintenance project that it is essential for improving the reliability and efficiency of the water supply network.

“We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused by the implementation of this maintenance project, however, planned maintenance on Rand Water’s infrastructure is necessary to ensure future sustainable supply of water to our customers. We urge all consumers to continue using water sparingly,” she said.
