Cassper Nyovest tries to save a life

Johannesburg – South African rapper, Cassper Nyovest is trying to save the life of 26-year-old Nompilo from Swaziland who has been living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

CF is a genetic disorder that causes damage to the lungs, digestive system and other organs in the body.

Due to lack of funds, Nompilo was not able to get the medical help that she needed and a gofundme page was started so she could get the life-saving lung transplant surgery in India that she desperately needs.

Nyovest reached out to the patient on social media.

Cassper said, “Hi Nkhosi. Your strength is encouraging. I am trying to get more info about how we can help with your current condition. I see there is a GoFundMe to raise 2M rand. Is that a medical bill or a guarantee of a new set of lungs. We wanna help raise awareness and the funds as well. How can we help exactly”

“Having lived in Swaziland her entire life, Nompilo has lived most of her existence absent any medication that would treat CF. As a result, her body has been struggling to survive for her entire life. Now her lungs are exhibiting traits of the prolonged and painful decline, as represented by a recent lung function test which showed her lungs can intake only 9% of oxygen,” the gofundme page reads.

“Her only hope is for a lung transplant in India.  South Africa, the nearest country to Swaziland, will not perform a transplant on Nompilo since she is not a citizen of South Africa.  A lung transplant in India is her only hope. Funds raised through this campaign will go toward Nompilo’s travel to India and the transplant surgery.  Thank you for reading this plea, and thank you for caring about this very special young lady,” the post continued.
