Johannesburg- Messages of condolences have been pouring in for the legendary broadcaster Dumile Mateza.
Dumile the Veteran sports commentator succumbed to cancer on Monday according to a statement issued by the family.
The Mateza Family representative Luyolo Mateza confirmed the passing of Dumile CG Mateza saying:
“It is with deep sorrow that the Mateza family confirms the sad yet peaceful passing of one of their own, Dumile CG Mateza. Our Beloved succumbed to cancer on 1 February,” he said.
The legendary sports commentator Dumile Mateza died at the age of 62. He was one of the commentators in the 1995 Rugby World Cup when South Africa lifted the trophy.
The SABC sports commentator will be remembered for his multilingual commentary in isiXhosa, English, and Afrikaans.
