Musician Letoya Makhene and her partner, Lebohang Keswa, have joined a number of celebrities donating food parcels to the needy during the COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide lockdown.
She donated food parcels under her Letoya Makhene foundation, around Alexander and Soweto on Tuesday.
The Thongo Lami musician and former Generations: The Legacy actress said she felt it heart-warming to help communities during this period, as many families do not have enough money to buy groceries themselves.
“This pandemic has left our people without work and many without food. It didn’t make sense to me to only give my people uplifting music, while they were hungry.
“While I know that I can’t save the whole world from hunger, I hope that this small contribution that I make to society will make somewhat of a difference in someone’s life,” she said.
