Minnie Dlamini Jones asks for prayers during Covid-19 third wave storm

Johannesburg – TV presenter and model Minnie Dlamini Jones has taken to social media and asked fans to pray for her and her family.

In an Instagram story, Minnie said, “My Family and I are currently out of commission…COVID is real and this wave is HECTIC!!! Stay safe and keep us in your prayers!!!.”

The third wave of Covid-19 that South Africa is currently facing is showing no signs of slowing down, with 13 347 new Covid-19 cases recorded on Tuesday.

Gauteng accounts for the majority of new cases (67%), followed by the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces (7% each).

According to the NICD, this means the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases has risen to 1 954 466.

226 more people lost their lives to Covid-19, pushing the death toll to 60 264.

A few weeks ago, Jones tweeted, “Please look after yourselves, in the passed two weeks the amount of people I know who have passed away is too much.”

The star did not confirm if she was infected with Covid-19, fans showed their support for her and her family on social media.
