Drop in business following AKA’s murder forces Wish to close shop

Popular Durban-based restaurant Wish On Florida is edging closer to shutting its doors, the establishment announced on its social media pages on Monday.

In a statement, management shared that business continues to drop following the deaths of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane who were shot outside the restaurant on February 10.

It added that the killings have left the business directors with no other option but to close for business, permanently.

“We would like to thank the City of Durban for the tremendous support in the last three years, catering to you and the rest of the country has been an absolute joy and your support will forever be engraved on Wish On Florida’s legacy,” said management in a statement.

The closure will be effective on April 10 with the hosting of an event themed “The Last Supper”, which will see different artists performing for guests at the venue for the last time.

The management said the full line-up will be shared soon.
