Power utility Eskom has warned that although there are no power outages planned, loadshedding may be implemented at the eleventh hour tonight.
It said its power system remains constrained and it would closely monitor the system.
Eskom cautioned the public that as the shortage of generation capacity persists, the system continues to be constrained with an elevated risk of load shedding over the coming weeks.
