Fraud-accused Hamilton Ndlovu’s supercars go under the hammer

A fleet of luxury cars belonging to personal protective equipment (PPE) fraud-accused businessman Hamilton Ndlovu are set to go on auction next Wednesday.

Ndlovu’s supercars including a 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera, a 2019 Porsche Panamera GTS, and a 2019 Lamborghini Urus are currently on display at Park Village Auctions’ website.

The auction house, which is based in Johannesburg, states that it was duly instructed by the appointed curator bonis, Hamilton Projects CC, to auction the exotic cars to the highest bidder.

Registrations for the auction are still open at R7 000 deposit per bidder.

This comes a few months after the special tribunal found that it would not be in the best interest of justice to allow Ndlovu to retain possession of his assets which were seized by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) after it was found that he was awarded tenders amounting to R172-million unlawfully.

Ndlovu caused a social media storm two years ago when videos of him surfaced where he is seen bragging about purchasing five supercars on the same day worth an estimated R11-million.

After the videos went viral, the SIU, which was authorised to investigate allegations of corruption, malpractice and irregularities in the procurement of goods and services during the Covid-19 state of disaster, found that Ndlovu was involved in corruption, which led to him being awarded PPE tenders.

The SIU then investigated the allegations and the circumstances in which eight companies directly and indirectly linked to Ndlovu had obtained contracts worth over R172-million for PPE from the National Health Laboratory Services.
