Gauteng Health urges congregants to observe Covid-19 regulations

The Gauteng Health Department has warned people to stay cautious as they gather for Easter gatherings this weekend, stating that the Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet.

“Where possible, religious gatherings should be outdoor to lower the risk of transmitting Covid-19,” said the Department.

People have been urged to keep their masks on during church services and attend virtually if possible.

“If you have to be indoors keep fresh air circulating by opening doors and windows. Gatherings with large crowds have a higher risk than small gatherings,” warned the Department.

Those who are not vaccinated have been advised to do so to protect themselves and others.

Over three million cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the country with a hundred thousand deaths and a recovery rate of 97.0%
