Limpopo men who kidnapped and raped Indian boy abandon bail

Two suspects accused of kidnapping an Indian boy and raping him abandoned bail when they appeared at the Thohoyandou magistrate’s court on Monday.

Phumudzo Nemutudi, 27, and his co-accused Thompho Mudau, 25, were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on September 8.

Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, spokesperson for National Prosecuting Authority in Limpopo, said after raping the boy, the duo demanded R2-million ransom from his family.


“The two accused have abandoned their bail hearing, and the matter is remanded to 8 September 2023 for further investigations. The accused persons will remain in custody until then,” said Malabi-Dzhangi.
