Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town Dr Thabo Makgoba will be among prominent guests who will grace the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Lecture to be held in Ulundi on Friday evening.
Makgoba will deliver the fourth installment of the lecture, which celebrates the role that IFP founder Mangosuthu Buthelezi played in shaping the political and social life of South Africa.
“Archbishop Makgoba will address dignitaries from the royal family, politicians, business leaders and members from the football fraternity,” said the Zululand district municipality.
The lecture is the first leg of the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup, which has become a signature event for the district and a pre-season tournament for Premier Soccer League teams.
Tourists and football fanatics are expected to flock to Zululand for what is expected to be a busy football weekend which kicks off on Saturday in the rural town of Ulundi.
Three KwaZulu-Natal-based football outfits AmaZulu FC, Royal AM and Richards Bay will battle it out for bragging rights.
They will be joined by Swazi Premier League outfit Mbabane Swallows. AmaZulu are the reigning champions having emerged triumphant in the last tournament.
