African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) leader Kenneth Meshoe and ACDP MP Steve Swart have tested positive for Covid-19.
Meshoe said that his results came back on Friday afternoon.
He confirmed last week that he had attended a religious gathering in Bloemfontein, Free State, before the President announced the national lockdown. This church gathering, of more than 200 people, had five tourists who were infected.
Unaware of his status and symptom free, Meshoe attended the briefing of political party leaders, on March 18, hosted by President Cyril Ramaphosa at Parliament.
But the presidency announced on Thursday that Ramaphosa had tested negative for the deadly virus, which earlier today claimed the lives of two people in the Western Cape.
