The Premier Soccer League and its chairman Irvin Khoza take the dishonour of being chosen the moegoes of the week for attempting to block Mamelodi Sundowns’ participation in the African Football League that’s due to start soon.
Last week, the board of governors refused to reschedule the PSL fixtures to accommodate Sundowns’ participation in the tournament.
This ground-breaking competition is a step in the right direction for the development of football in Africa. The prize money will go a long way in developing the game on a continent that is in dire need of facilities and an injection of serious funding.
But the PSL is selfishly guarding its own interests and does not seem to want to play its part in helping the African discourse of growth.
