John Mpe, the executive mayor of Polokwane Municipality in Limpopo is the subject of a police investigation relating to the violent shoot-out that flared up Juju Valley on the outskirts of Seshego township ahead of the general elections.
Although Mpe was long fingered as one of the instigators, police have been tight-lipped about his alleged involvement in the violent skirmishes that resulted in the shooting a nine-year-old girl, Tshiamo Lebaka.
A man was also left with bullet wounds and about 25 other people were left battered and bruised in the incident.
