President Cyril Ramaphosa outdid himself hosting the most important and biggest Brics Summit since the formation of the economic bloc, which started without SA.
Despite the much-praised decision to invite an additional six countries to join the five, Ramaphosa also invited heads of state from Africa and the global South.
Seventy non-Brics heads of state delivered messages of support as Ramaphosa moved to place Africa on a high pedestal in geopolitical institutions.
While Ramaphosa is correctly criticised for his failures domestically, his manoeuvres in global politics deserve commendation. Well done, Mr President!
