Four South Africans were this week honoured for their sterling work in risking their lives while exposing corruption.
Thabiso Zulu and murdered Babita Deokaran were acknowledged with special recognition awards hosted by the international non-profit organisation, Blueprint For Free Speech. Francois van der Westhuizen and Pieter Snyders took the UK whistleblowing prize.
Zulu was an ANCYL Harry Gwala official and Deokaran a senior finance official in the Gauteng health department.
