Celebrated entertainer Thembi Mtshali-Jones is now an honorary doctor. The legendary actress, famously known for her role as Thoko on Sgudi Snaysi, recently received her honorary doctor of philosophy in visual and performing arts degree from the Durban University of Technology.
Mtshali-Jones, 72, cut her teeth in the entertainment industry in the 1970s with a professional stage performance in a musical production. She has been featured in several popular drama, series, soapies and sitcoms, and has bagged a number of awards.
