Limpopo-based artist Penny Penny showed a strong will and independent mindedness when he stood his ground against the might of the ANC’s top brass this week.
Penny Penny, an ANC councillor, defied orders not to perform at the rival MK Party event in Soweto.
The colourful one from Giyani, however, gave a stellar performance at the Orlando Stadium yesterday – showing the powers that be and younger performers that artists have the right to decide where and when they perform regardless of their political affiliations or bow to the whims of political leaders.
