Charmza: South African football
No DNA, just RSA as Amajita reach the Afcon final 28 years later.
South African football is on an upward trajectory as the Amajita are the latest junior national team that have booked their place in the Fifa World Cup later this year.
Amajita not only booked their ticket to Chile in September but also reached the U20 Afcon final for the first time since 1997.
Win or lose, the current crop of the Amajita squad have written their names into the history books of SA junior national teams alongside the likes of Benni McCarthy, Stanton Fredericks, David Kannemeyer and Matthew Booth, who reached the Afcon final 28 years ago
Amajita follow in the footsteps of the U17s, who also qualified for the World Cup in their age category after reaching the quarterfinals of the Afcon two months ago.
