A march against the Helen Suzman Foundation (HSF) is in the works.
Radio presenter and activist Jacinta Ngobese told Sunday World that they intend to take the campaign, March and March against undocumented immigrants, directly to the HSF’s offices.
“We’ve been watching the Helen Suzman Foundation, as well as other high-profile individuals, defending undocumented immigrants. Our concern is that undocumented immigrants have destroyed our country,” she said.
Jobs, safety, healthcare affected
“Graduates are unemployed, and public institutions such as clinics and schools are overwhelmed by foreign nationals. It is not fair that our taxes are spent on foreign nationals. We are also struggling, and our problems are being worsened by institutions like the Helen Suzman Foundation.
“We are therefore wondering why this institution is so determined to protect people who are destroying our country. For this reason, we have written an open letter demanding answers. If they do not respond within seven days, we will march to their offices,” Ngobese-Zuma told Sunday World.
The letter reads as follows: “March and March, a movement of ordinary South Africans fighting to reclaim our country from the chaos of illegal migrants, has a simple question for you: Whose side are you on?
“You’ve spent years dragging the government to court, fighting for the rights of undocumented foreigners while our communities drown in the consequences. Our clinics are collapsing under the weight of overcrowding. And our jobs are stolen by employers exploiting cheap, undocumented labour. Our women and children fear walking to school because gangs – many led by foreign nationals – rule the streets. Your legal victories don’t feed our families. They don’t keep us safe.
Borders overwhelmed
“Here’s our challenge. Spend one day with us. Not in your air-conditioned offices or cushy seminars. Come to Diepsloot, where residents sleep with axes under their beds because SAPS can’t stop foreign-led crime syndicates.
“Hillbrow clinics, where pregnant South African women wait 12 hours for care because facilities are overrun by undocumented migrants. Border towns like Musina, where SANDF soldiers risk their lives patrolling our borders that your lawsuits have done nothing to secure. Talk to us, hear how your obsession with human rights for undocumented immigrants has trampled our rights to safety, jobs, and dignity.
“Why do you fight harder for illegal foreigners than for South Africans? Your lawsuits block deportations, stall border security, and tie up resources. While our people suffer. Who funds your human rights crusade? Is it NGOs pushing open borders? Foreign donors who’ll never live in the war zones your policies create? When will you admit that your version of justice is killing us?
Court victories at expense of SA sovereignty
“Every court win for undocumented immigrants is a loss for South Africans clinging to survival. We’re Not Asking. We’re demanding. Meet us, see the crisis you’ve helped create. Then explain to our faces why foreign nationals deserve your advocacy more than the citizens you’ve sworn to protect. Reply within seven days. If you ignore this, we’ll know the truth, that your human rights are a lie.”
An enquiry was sent to the Helen Suzman Foundation, and they had promised to respond. However, at the time of publishing, no response had been received.
