Full house expected when Chiefs take on Matsatsantsa tonight

Tickets for the DStv Premiership clash between SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday night are selling like hotcakes.

SuperSport United marketing manager Coltrane Munyai confirmed in a radio interview with Nathi Kubyane that 20 000 tickets have already been sold.

This will certainly result in an electrifying atmosphere and a humdinger of a match, which will kick off at 7.30pm.

United are looking to continue from where they left off last season when they beat Amakhosi 1-0 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.

According to United, the visitors will want to settle the score even though they won the first-round meeting between the two teams last season.

Amakhosi will also want to get back to winning ways after they dropped two vital points against Royal AM at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The match ended in a goalless draw.

Interestingly, both United and Chiefs consolidated their squads at the beginning of the current season by acquiring quality players.

Matsatsantsa kicked off the season on a positive note following their victory at the same venue against Richards Bay United in August.

They have won three matches having played five, drawn one and lost one. They currently occupy position three on the Premiership log table with 10 points.

Both United and Chiefs are separated by two points with Amakhosi on position five having collected eight points from six matches.

The Glamour Boys are also preparing to visit Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semifinal second leg at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday.

Matsatsantsa will rely heavily on players such as forward Etiosa Ighodaro, Grant Margeman, Gamphani Lungu and Terence Dzvukamanja.

In their last match at the same venue, United lost to second-placed Golden Arrows in August.
