The two Ndimande brothers, currently detained in Eswatini, have finally surrendered their fight against extradition to South Africa, where they stand accused of killing Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA, and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande, both from Mtubatuba in northern KwaZulu-Natal, reportedly gave up their legal bid late on Wednesday, according to the Times of Eswatini.
The Ndimande brothers withdrew their appeal to the Eswatini High Court in Mbabane to reverse the August 2024 decision of the Manzini Magistrate’s Court in central Eswatini, which determined that they should be extradited to South Africa.
February 2023 hit
They will now appear in the Durban High Court dock alongside Eddie Myeza, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, Lindani Ndimande, and Muziwethemba Gwabeni, the primary suspect in the hit.
Authorities sought the Ndimande brothers for their involvement in the February 2023 murders of renowned rapper AKA and his friend “Tibz” on Florida Road in Durban.
The two were shot dead by unidentified men on the evening of February 10, 2023, shortly after they had left the Wish Restaurant.
When the net closed on the Ndimande brothers, they ran away to Eswatini and took refuge in the capital city of Mbabane’s small township of Mahhwalala.
After discovering that they were hiding in the neighbouring kingdom, the National Prosecuting Authority and the South African Police Service then requested an arrest warrant in February 2025.
Suspected contract killers
Their presence in the kingdom initially sparked suspicion when they moved into a rented house, locked themselves inside during the day, and partied vigorously throughout the night.
Residents of Eswatini, who are typically friendly and enjoy getting to know their neighbours, developed suspicions and the Ndimande brothers were subsequently taken into custody at the South African authorities’ request.
The brothers are alleged contract killers involved in multiple killings of taxi owners and councillors in Mtubatuba and surrounding areas, in addition to being implicated in the murder of AKA and his friend.
