The case against TS Galaxy goal poacher Thamsanqa Gabuza has been postponed to December 19 for mediation.
The soccer star is accused of malicious damage to property after he allegedly smashed three cellphones and a laptop in November.
The cellphones and a laptop, which belonged to his ex-girlfriend, were valued at R50 000.
Dressed in white sweatpants and a hoodie, the 36-year-old footballer appeared briefly in the Alexandra magistrate’s court on Monday.
However, the court adjourned a few minutes later when the state informed the court that its investigation is continuing.
Speaking to Sunday World outside the court, Gabuza’s lawyer Themba Ngobeni said his client will be back in court on the said date and fully cooperate during the proceedings.
The football star is out on R3 000 bail after he handed himself over to police in Bramley, Johannesburg in November.
The state had submitted that bail should be set at R5 000, but Ngobeni argued against the amount, saying the soccer star was still waiting for his salary.

According to police records, the soccer star visited his ex-girlfriend at her house in Sandton on November 11.
Cellphones, laptop damaged
In her statement, the complainant said Gabuza allegedly asked her for sex but she refused. He then allegedly grabbed and pushed her towards the bedroom.
However, she managed to free herself and ran back to the lounge. Gabuza is accused of following her, snatching her cellphones and smashing them against the wall.
In 2017, a case of gender-based violence was opened against Gabuza, dealing a blow to his flourishing football career.
Gabuza also played for Bafana Bafana, South Africa’s men’s national football team.
Gabuza, who was playing for Orlando Pirates at the time, was arrested for allegedly beating up another ex-girlfriend.
He spent a night in the Sandton police holding cells after the then-girlfriend, identified as Boitshoko Tala, unleashed police officers on him.
She alleged that the footballer assaulted her and stole her belongings worth R40 000.
