Tshegofatso Pule murder trial resumes with testimonies

Johannesburg – Tshegofatso Pule’s murder trial resumes today at the Johannesburg High Court, where the then-boyfriend of Pule, Ntuthuko Shoba has been accused as the mastermind behind Pule’s murder.

Yesterday the high court heard how the murder accused gave police a cellphone number that had no messages or Pule’s contacts.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Mpe Teme from the Roodepoort police station, who took the witness stand yesterday, said during his investigations, Shoba was asked to hand over his phone as he was known as the last person to have last seen Pule.

Teme said he couldn’t even find Pule’s number.

He further added that the phone was active and receiving messages but there was no information to incriminate the murder accused.

He said it was only after Shoba’s arrest that the police found another cell phone at his house using the same number.

Tema said he handed over his phone to help with investigations, however that phone had no records of conversations between him and Pule.

It’s believed Shoba did a sim swap and upon his arrest, a second handset was confiscated.

It was this phone that contained WhatsApp conversations between the two.

Teme and the Vodacom mobile expert will today resume with their testimonies in the witness box.
