ANC councillor Moerane recovering well in hospital

Former City of Joburg mayor Mpho Moerane is said to be recovering well in hospital after he was involved in a car crash on Monday evening.

According to the Moerane family’s spokesperson Mike Maile, Moerane is in good spirits.

On Wednesday, Maile issued a statement stating that Moerane was responding well to treatment as his condition has been stabilised.

“Doctors are still monitoring him, and he will be discharged in no time,” said Maile.

He further pleaded with the residents of Johannesburg and South Africa at large to continue to pray for Moerane’s speedy recovery.

“There is no crisis, Moerane is on his way to recovery, and he is looking forward to resume his responsibilities at the City of Johannesburg and in the ANC region where he is part of the collective preoccupied with the renewal project of the African National Congress,” added Maile.

He concluded by asking the public to grant both the family and health professionals space to nurse Moerane to his full recovery.
