United Democratic Movement leader Bantu Holomisa announced on his twitter account that he tested negative for covid-19.
“Just been informed by the doctor who took my samples on 27 March 2020 in Queenstown hospital, that tests are negative. SARS Coronavirus 2 RNA was not detected in this sample. Thanks to all 4 ur support. Praise The Lord,” read his tweet.
Holomisa was part of a group of politicians who interacted with the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) leader, Kenneth Meshoe – who later announced he tested positive for the virus. Holomisa went into self-quarantine after being tested.
Meanwhile, a third person from the Free state is confirmed to have died from the Corona virus. The confirmed number of infected cases stand at 1 326 with one person in Khayelitsha and another in Alexandra township.
It’s alleged that the Alexandra resident, from the Stjwetla information settlement, left Gauteng for Limpop, while waiting for his results.
He has since been located and quarantined in Limpopo. Health workers are currently in Alexandra testing neighbours of the man.
Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku said the group of nine people he had been staying with have all been quarantined.
