Former EFF Gauteng leader Mandisa Mashego said her poor health conditions and her willingness to fight for the reinstatement of death penalty were among the reasons she resigned from the party in February.
She said she had a life saving operation in 2018 after suffering from a serious illness and doctors told her that she would have probably died had she not undergone the operation.
She also said she was unable to campaign for the reinstatement of the death penalty because that is not in line with the party policy.
Sunday World was the first to break the story about her shocking resignation from the party in February this year.
When we contacted her for comment, Mandisa couldn’t deny or confirm that she had resigned from the party while her party poured cold water on allegation.
Mandisa has now been replaced by party deputy provincial chairperson Itani Mukwevho as the caucus leader in the Gauteng Legislature.
