Cyan Boujee walks free after court dropped case of theft

Popular influencer and deejay Cyan Boujee has been released from police custody after her matter was withdrawn at the Midrand magistrate’s court on Friday.

Cyan Boujee, whose real name is Honour Zuma Zacn, was arrested in the early hours of Friday after she was nabbed by the police in Midrand for allegedly stealing a cellphone.

A case of theft was opened against the controversial media personality at the same police station two weeks ago.

Cyan Boujee’s matter was not placed on the roll due to lack of sufficient evidence for a successful prosecution. Her manager Lerato Sochi told Sunday World that the deejay was in good spirits following her release.

“She is fine. She is on her way to Pretoria for a meeting with me. I will have all details as soon as she gets here and I have spoken to her,” Sochi said.

Earlier, police spokesperson Mavela Masondo said a case was opened against the deejay and the matter was being investigated by the police. She spent a few hours at the Midrand police holding cells before she was released in court.

Popular blogger Man’s not Barry Roux said Cyan Boujee was nabbed on Friday morning on her way from a performance at a well-known nightclub Cofi for allegedly stealing an iPhone 13.

She had been booked to perform at the popular joint’s After 5 Sessions alongside Metro FM DJ Lamiez Holworthy.

This is not the first time that Cyan Boujee had a brush with the law.

In 2022, she opened a case of assault against her boyfriend and Nigerian Afrobeats musician Bamzy Riches for allegedly assaulting her.

Bamzy was arrested and went on to open a counter charge of assault against Cyan Boujee, claiming to have also been assaulted.
