Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize’s estranged husband Sbu Mpisane has been caught at the centre of the extravagant businesswoman’s tax woes with the South African Revenue Service (Sars).
Sunday World can exclusively reveal that Sars served him with a writ of execution to attach the movable assets of the house he lives in KwaZulu-Natal.
This because although Mpisane and MaMkhize separated several years ago and the businesswoman is now using her maiden surname, the two have not officially divorced and are still married in community of property.
Mpisane, who lives in a villa adjacent MaMkhize’s, is likely to lose the movable assets if the taxman auctions them off.
Sources close to him said he informed Sars officials and the Hawks who descended on his mansion that it was unfair of them to attach his movable assets because of MaMkhize’s personal tax woes, which she incurred years after they separated.
“Sars and Hawks officials said they would investigate the matter and revert back to him,” said the source.
In terms of the warrant of execution obtained from the Durban high court on August 21, Sars was authorised to attach moveable assets from 88 Addision Drive, La Lucia, in Umhlanga; 1 Byrne Court, Lalucia, Umhlanga; 1 Moreland Drive, La Lucia, Umhlanga; 22 Aston Street, Sandown Extension 24, Sandton, Gauteng and 55 Adrianne Street, Sandown, Johanneburg.
This after MaMkhize, whose real name is Mabong Flora-Junior Mkhize, failed to pay the whopping R12.7-million tax bill.
Sars has also attached movable assets of her football club, Royal AM, which plies its trade in the PSL. MaMkhize’s tax blues come after she failed to pay her players in time last month.
The players reported the matter to the South African Football Players Union (Safpu) for intervention.
After Safpu’s intervention, the footies were paid their salaries.
Mpisane declined to comment.
