Shebeshxt releases new single from behind bars

Popular musician Shebeshxt, who is facing various criminal charges including attempted murder, has released his latest single Ambulance while behind bars.

Shebeshxt, born Lehlogonolo Katlego, is expected to appear at the Lebowakgomo magistrates court on Wednesday, June 14, for attempted murder and assault GBH after his bail was revoked for allegedly stabbing three people in Limpopo.


However, it appears that it is business as usual where his music is concerned as fans of the ‘rouge’ muso were treated to his new song after his record label, Bolo House Music, dropped his latest single featuring Naqua Music SA, Buddy Sax and Zoli Smoke on Saturday.

Chauke is also facing two counts of discharging a firearm as he allegedly fired four shots in the air at a family home in Ga-Mamaola village, Limpopo on April 10.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson in Limpopo, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, said the Monateng hitmaker appeared at the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday facing an additional charge of assault GBH and another one of malicious injury to property.

Malabi-Dzhangi said: “Matters were on the roll today for purposes of judgment on bail application. Bail has been refused, and the matters have been postponed to 14 June 2023 for further investigations, and for the dockets to be perused by the Senior Public Prosecutor and a decision on the forum to hear the matter.”

Shebeshxt, who was out on bail in another matter of assault GBH was arrested over the weekend and his bail revoked.

Malabi-Dzhangi explained that as it stands, Shebeshxt is facing two charges of assault GBH, which were opened last year, while the recent incident of attempted murder happened on April 10 this year.

In the first case which occurred last year, he allegedly stabbed the complaint once on his back with a Knife at Lebowakgomo.

In the second case, he allegedly stabbed the second complaint with a knife three times on his lower left arm, back of the neck, and next to his ribs in October last year.

In the latest incident, he allegedly stabbed the complaint on the head once with a knife.

Malabi-Dzhangi said the singer also faces two charges of discharging a firearm in a built-up area or any public area.

She said the muso: “discharged a firearm at Mamaolo village on 10 April 2023, as he went to a certain family residence looking for their relative who ran away. The accused discharged his firearm shooting upwards,”

“On the second incident (10 April 2023) the accused discharged a firearm at another family residence when he went to look for a member of that family, when he was informed that the person he was looking for was not there, he discharged his firearm four times upwards,”

Shebeshxt, also Limopo born musician is also known as president ya ma-2k and has a  large following among the youth.

He is largely criticised for violent lyrics where he is often heard threatening to stab his opponents and music rivals including popular Limpopo hitmaker, King Monada.

In his graphic Youtube videos, he often shows off his guns and could be seen wielding his knives.
