Catchball is a ball game, often compared to a simplified version of volleyball, where players catch the ball and then throw it to teammates or over the net. It is played on a volleyball court, typically with two teams of six players. The game focuses on catching the ball before passing it on, making it easier to learn and play than traditional volleyball. Catchball was initially developed in Israel as a sport for women and has gained popularity around the world.
South Africa is hosting its first Catchball Tournament from 16 to 21 June 2025 at Midrand High School in Midrand, Entrance is free.
