Cheetahs captain Oupa Mohoje says Barcelona Diables will not be taken lightly

Johannesburg – The Toyota Cheetahs captain Oupa Mohoje says that the team is buzzing with positivity and is in high spirits for their clash against Barcelona Diables on today’s clash.

Mohoje said that the team will be focusing on themselves as they are geared up to correct their previous mistakes from their past games.

“I believe that we prepped well for a team that we don’t necessarily know, but we’ll go out there and express ourselves the best way we know how and play our brand of rugby,” states Mohoje.

The Free State side will go head-to-head with the Barcelona Diables in their second Toyota Challenge clash at the Free State Stadium.

Cheetahs’ head coach Hawies Fourie said the team for the clash has been selected a week ago.

“Before the start of the Toyota Challenge, we decided that we will give the whole squad a run. So, we selected this team more than a week ago to play against the Diables,” said Fourie.

“After Wednesday match we’ll make a decision about the Sharks and Baia Mare games. For me it is just worth it to give everyone game time, to see where you stand with all the players and to get them match fit and ready for the Currie Cup,” he added.

While starting on a right foot in their match opener for the tournament, the Bloemfontein based-club defeated the Western Province with a 31-30 scoreline over the weekend.

Speaking over their hard-fought win against Western Province, Fourie said the team will have an opportunity to prove their strength in this encounter.

“We are disappointed in our performance against Western Province and we want to lift the standards and play decent rugby,” he said.

He further added: “It is an opportunity for the guys playing tomorrow to put up their hands and to show what they can do.”

The action kicks off at 17:30 with a live broadcast on SuperSport 211.
