Moroka Swallows coach Steve Komphela says his side is revved up ahead of its Carling Black Label Knockout clash against Richards Bay and will be on a mission to get its revenge on the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.
Swallows will be battling it out for a spot in the quarterfinals at the King Zwelithini Stadium this afternoon at 3pm.
Recently, the Dube Birds succumbed to a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Natal Rich Boys during their DStv Premiership encounter, which has since been the only win Richards Bay registered so far this season in the league.
Ahead of the encounter, Komphela said he was anticipating a tough game but also fancied their chances of going through to the next round.
“With regards to our track record with Richards Bay – when we played them at Dobsonville [Stadium], they are one of the teams that beat us and that sends a very strong message with regards to their capabilities. And obviously it’s amazing what the launch of this tournament has done to the players [man of the match set to win R100 000 prize money] and everyone will be prepared to go in and battle it out to advance.
“So, we need to avenge the defeat because whatever happened at Dobsonville, I’m sure it can be undone.”
The Natal Rich Boys have been struggling since the start of season and will be desperate to get back to their winning ways.
