Coach Hulley lining up ‘fireworks’ for No 1 contender Fourie

Warren Hulley, boxing coach of Lancelot “Congo” Moyo, is lining up fireworks for opponent Kaine Fourie when they battle it out for the SA lightweight title bout at the Sun City Superbowl in Northwest next week Saturday.

The boxing tournament, promoted by Xaba Promotions, will be a triple header featuring an exhilarating line-up of local talent, which will feature the likes of Jackson Chauke, Ayanda Nkosi and Khaya Busakwe, amongst others.

Moyo is undefeated in four fights and holds a perfect knockout record of four wins in his previous four outings. His opponent, Fourie, is a number one contender in South Africa for the title.

The bout will be intriguing because it pits Lancelot against a number one ranked boxer in the lightweight division, who has a record of six fights, four victories, two draws and two knockouts.

“He [Fourie] is a very good fighter, he had a good win in his last fight, so we are expecting a very tough and competitive fight,” Warren told Sunday World ahead of the much-anticipated bout.

“The pressure will not be on us [Moyo], it will be on him [Fourie] as he has a point to prove since he is the number one contender for the [lightweight] championship.

“Moyo is very focused, he’s been working hard in training. He is hungry and determined. We are positive that we will pull out a victory, it won’t be easy, but Moyo has the capacity to go all the way to win it.”

Warren said a positive outcome for his camp would be very important, as a victory would elevate Moyo’s promising career, as he is poised to make a mark in SA boxing.

Despite winning all his previous fights with knockouts, Warren said that Moyo would not focus on a knockout this time around.
