The Vitality Netball World Cup is edging closer and tournament director Priscila Masisi is encouraging Netball lovers to purchase their tickets ahead of the spectacle.
The event takes center stage in Cape Town at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 28 July to 6 August.
Netball South Africa celebrated the 100-days countdown of the global showpiece by unveiling the latest mural commemorating the tournament outside the CTICC on Wednesday.
The tournament takes place on African shores for the first time in 60 years and Masisi has since encouraged the supporters of all the 16 nations to rally behind their teams.
“This 100 days to go milestone will assist in providing all of us with an opportunity to encourage the 16 nations that will be participating in the Vitality Netball World Cup 2023 to mobilise their supporters so that they can come and get behind their teams,” Masisi said.
“We therefore encourage all of the supporters to buy their tickets to attend this first ever Netball World Cup on African soil.”
Recently, Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Zizi Kodwa successfully launched the Netball Friday in Tembisa and unveiled a multi-purpose facility at the Ronnie Louw Sports Grounds in Hopefield.
Several upcoming activations are set to be planned in various provinces to mark the ‘100 Days to Go’ which will be spearheaded by various Provincial Governments and Municipalities.
The Spar Proteas are drawn in Pool C, alongside Jamaica, Wales, and Sri Lanka.
