Puma extends long-term commitment to Netball SA

Global sports company Puma will continue its long-term partnership as the exclusive kit sponsor for Netball South Africa.

The agreement, originally signed in 2019, sees Puma supply kit for all teams under the auspices of Netball SA, including the senior and junior national teams, the umpires, teams in the National Premier League, as well as Netball SA executives.

In addition, the sports company will produce the official replica and fanwear.

Brett Bellinger, Puma South Africa marketing director, said the decision to extend the partnership is to celebrate and empower women in sport.

“Netball is a very popular sport, especially among girls and women in South Africa, but had not received the support of other sports, especially men’s sports,” Bellinger said.

“As a brand, we are committed to empowering and celebrating women in sport, so with this long-term extension, we are reinforcing our commitment to support Netball SA and other team sponsors in bringing about positive change, so that the sport and the athletes get the opportunities, recognition and financial rewards that their world-class talents deserve.”

Netball SA president Cecilia Molokwane expressed her delight for Puma’s long-term commitment to Netball SA.

“In March, Puma provided the passionate warriors in our national team with a striking kit and today we are delighted to announce the long-term extension of our partnership,” Molokwane said.

The announcement coincided with the 100-day countdown to the Vitality Netball World Cup which gets under way in Cape Town in July.

In March, Puma and Netball SA unveiled the United Warriors kit that the Spar Proteas team will wear during the 2023 season and when they compete for glory at the World Cup.
