Amakhosi to use last two games as motivation against Downs

Kaizer Chiefs will not get carried away by their two wins in a row. But will use it as motivation ahead of their massive clash against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final first leg.

That is according to Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki, who hopes to have an advantage after the final whistle.

The two giants will meet at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Kick-off time is at 3pm.

The day has finally come where Amakhosi and Masandawana take off their gloves and go into battle, with the hope to set one foot into the final and ultimately go all the way to lift the new-look MTN8 trophy.

Unlike Sundowns, who have started the season agonizingly strong, we cannot say the same about Chiefs. They lost two and drew one of their five league games, which lead to their supporters launching an attack on Ntseki.

Amakhosi have, however, turned things around by winning back-to-back games against AmaZulu and Stellenbosch FC without conceding a goal.

“In terms of the tactics, I think it is something we will carry over from the last two matches into this match,” Ntseki said.

“This is to make sure that everybody is ready and understands what is expected of him in possession and out of possession.

“But the most important thing is we’ve been scoring goals from set plays, which makes us feel very confident going into this game.

“In the last two matches we did not concede anything, so I think it’s important that it’s a ‘zero concede’ game tomorrow and the most important thing is for us to score the goals.”

“We are playing at home, in front of our supporters. We have to make ourselves and our Khosi Nation happy, so that as we walk out of the stadium as a happy family.”
