Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town City has completed the signing of attacking midfielder Keagan Dolly on a free transfer on Wednesday.
“We are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Keagan Dolly. Welcome to the City family Keagan!” Cape Town City said in a social media post.
The Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs star is reportedly joining the Citizens on a one-year deal with an option to extend after parting ways with TS Galaxy at the end of last season.
Dolly recently returned from national team duty with Bafana Bafana. They were part of the squad at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Uganda.
The 32-year-old is now the fifth signing for City after defender Njabulo Ngcobo, Sifiso Ngobeni from Sundowns, and Dutch duo Simon van Duivenbooden and Mickey van der Hart.
Set to help team back to top flight
Dolly is expected to hit the ground running at the club. And he is expected to help the return in the Premier Soccer League top flight with his experience. City got relegated last season after losing in the play-offs to Orbit College.
The Citizens have now started their new life in the National First Division (NFD). Their next game away is to Milford FC at the Richards Bay Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
City opened their Motsepe Foundation Championship account with a 1-1 draw against Venda FC. The game was over the weekend.
