The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that tickets for the highly anticipated Nedbank Cup final between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will go on sale on Monday, May 5.
The Soweto Derby final will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, May 10. The tickets will be available from Open Tickets outlets nationwide, including Shoprite and Checkers stores from 10am on Monday.
Stringent security measures
The league has also announced the stringent security measures ahead of the game to block fake tickets peddlers and chance-takers from causing havoc in the country’s biggest soccer match.
Spectators may also purchase tickets online via www.opentickets.co.za . General Access Tickets will be priced at R150 each. To ensure fair access, each person will be limited to purchasing a maximum of four tickets.
Hospitality packages will also be available from Monday morning. For more information, members of the public may call 082 805 3150 or email: booking@sail.co.za .
Public cautioned against black market tickets
The PSL strongly urges members of the public to exercise caution and only purchase tickets through official channels. Tickets purchased from third parties will be invalid and will not grant entry to the stadium. The league further appeals to all football supporters to cooperate with event regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable Nedbank Cup final for all.
In the last Soweto Derby, chaos and disaster reigned after more than 100 000 spectators entered the venue. More than 10 000 spectators bought tickets on the black market outside the stadium. And that caused disorder for security officers and event organisers. This time, the PSL will be going all out to ensure that everything will be under control. It will ensure that the show will run smoothly without criminals and fraudsters causing turmoil.
