TS Galaxy captain Pogiso Sanoka has opened up about the ongoing rift between coach Sead Ramovic and Rulani Mokwena, saying that the ongoing bickering is beyond their control.
This after the outspoken Galaxy coach fired shots at Mokwena last week, alleging that the Mamelodi Sundowns mentor yelled and used the infamous F-word against him during a protracted and tense phone conversation.
The claims come at the back of their Carling Knockout clash, where Galaxy eliminated Sundowns out of the competition.
After the match, Mokwena said his side lost the game because he was without his seven key players that were on international duty – a statement that was not received well as Ramovic felt Mokwena undermined and disrespected his players.
Tension beyond our control as players
Speaking to the media after the Nedbank Cup last-16 draw in Randburg on Monday night, Sanoka said the situation between the two coaches is one that they will not get involved in as players.
“Unfortunately, that [tension between the two coaches] is something that is beyond our control as players,” Sanoka told Sunday World.
“What we can control is the fact that we support and respect him (Ramovic); we also respect both coaches.
“But that is just something that they must deal with as coaches and colleagues. They must deal with in their own way and make sure that it doesn’t affect us (players), because we are just here to play football, and anything outside is something that is not much of a concern for us.”
“So, the only way to make him (Ramovic) to continue being himself [outspoken] is for us to deliver the results, because if we let him talk and talk and don’t give him the results, it will be only him against the world.”
The two sides avoided each other in the next round of the Nedbank Cup done on Monday evening. While Downs were drawn against Motsepe Foundation Championship side Maritzburg United, Galaxy will face off against third-tier side D’General.
