Galaxy out to shatter Bucs’ dream of overtaking Downs

TS Galaxy will be on a mission to dim the light of Orlando Pirates in their quest to overtake Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the league standings and head into the Fifa International break in the driving seat.

Galaxy will welcome Pirates in Mpumalanga when they host them at the Mbombela Stadium this afternoon.

The Betway Premiership title race is seemingly going down to the wire, as Pirates and Sundowns are separated by two points, with nine games remaining in what has been a pulsating season.

Both teams head into the encounter with a lot to play for, as Bucs will want to return to winning ways and remain on the heels of Downs in the title race.

The Rockets, on the other hand, have had contrasting results in the league and Nedbank Cup.

They are one of the semi-finalists in the Nedbank, but have been fumbling when it comes to league performances.

They last registered a win in the league in January and will be desperate to get maximum points against the Buccaneers at home.

Ahead of the game, the Buccaneers dropped two points that may prove to be vital come the end of the season when they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Siwelele FC.

“We cannot lie to say that we are not disappointed because we have the feeling that we have lost two points at home regarding the chances we created in the match, the ball possession, shots on target,” said Bucs coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

“For us, let’s fight until the end of the season because at the end of the season, maybe this point can be precious

“But only at the end of the season can we give feedback about this point, whether it is two points lost or one point regarding the opponent,” the lanky gaffer added.

It will also be one of those bitter sweet moment games, where Pirates duo Lebone Seema and Kamogelo Sebelebele will be returning to a place they once called home for the first time since leaving the Rockets at the start of the current season.
