The MTN8 semi-final fixtures have been confirmed and Orlando Pirates will go up against Stellenbosch FC in the first semi-final while Kaizer Chiefs will battle it out against Mamelodi Sundowns.
This after Stellenbosch knocked out SuperSport United in the last quarter-final match when they edged past them by a goal to zero on Sunday night.
Thanks to 99th minute extra-time goal by substitute Andre de Jong, who found himself unmarked at the near post and headed the ball in the back of the net from a well-worked corner kick.
It was a tight affair at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, with neither side able to break the deadlock inside 90 minutes. Stellies did, however, hold their own and book their ticket to the MTN8 semi-final to become the fourth and final side.
On the other fixture, Chiefs had an incredible last gasp victory, when new signing Edson Castillo scored a stoppage time winner against Cape Town City.
Amakhosi will now have to go past a Sundowns side that had to dig deep for their 1-0 victory against 10-man Moroka Swallows.
Pirates, on the other hand, booked their spot in the semis after putting a five-star performance and easing past Sekhukhune United, when they thumped them 5-0 on Saturday night.
Dates and venues of the games are yet to be announced by the Premier Soccer League.
