Kylian Mbappe sets sights on greener pastures elsewhere

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappe is reportedly heading for the exit door after presenting the club with a formal letter about his desire to leave when his contract runs out in 2024.

According to reports, the club hierarchy is furious about the letter sent by the 24-year-old, who stated that the timing was good, following Lionel Messi’s recent announcement that he will leave PSG for Major League Soccer side Inter Miami in the US.

Another star whose future is hanging by a thread at the club is Brazilian dribbling wizard Neymar, following reports recently that he could be traded to Manchester United next season should Sheik Jassim complete the full Qatari takeover.

Mbappe was reported to have initially agreed to trigger a one-year contract extension with the Ligue 1 champions.

The saga surrounding the player is nothing new, as he was in a similar situation in 2022 when he was linked with a sensational move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

PSG, were, however, able to tie down the French wonderkid to a one-year contract extension.

With club legend Karim Benzema having also made a shocking big money move to Saudi Arabia Pro League champions Al-Ittihad, Madrid could step up and make another move, as they are expected to find a replacement for Benzema.

PSG now find themselves in an awkward position, as they will be forced to put the star on the transfer market, should Mbappe not sign a new deal, as they cannot imagine losing their talisman for free.

Madrid owner Florentino Perez will be licking his lips, as he finally has a chance to land the signature of the player he always wanted at his club.
