Kwa-Zulu Natal based football club Maritzburg United has followed in the steps of Kaizer Chiefs by making rapid changes to their squad.
the club announced that they have let eight of their players go to give way to new blood ahead of the new season.
On Friday morning the club issued a statement stating that Tato Lesoma, Steven Pereira, Nazeer Allie, Riyaaz Ismail, Clayton Daniels, Phumalani Ntshangase, Lucky Baloyi and Ryan Rae will no longer be part of the team.
“The club will make an announcement when our new acquisitions have been finalized. We would also like to thank all the players for their efforts and contribution to the club and wish them luck in their future endeavours,” reads the statement.
AmaZulu also announced the departure of 15 players from their squad, while Kaizer Chiefs parted ways with nine of their players.
