New Chiefs coach thanks AS FAR bosses, fans for the support

Kaizer Chiefs-bound coach Nasreddine Nabi has sent an emotional message to Moroccan giants AS FAR as he prepares for a new journey at Naturena next season.

According to reports, Nabi officially completed his exit at AS FAR after the Chiefs triggered his $60 000 (R1.1-million) release clause on Wednesday.

Nabi, who is expected to take a short trip from Morocco to join Amakhosi in Turkey for their three-week-long pre-season camp, took to his official social media account to confirm his departure from the Moroccan club.

“Dear soldiers, out of respect for all the support you have given me, I must clarify the situation,” Nabi said in a statement.

End of the road

“It is with mixed feelings that I announce that my journey as coach of AS FAR has come to an end.

“After a difficult season of hard work and intense moments shared together, it is time for me to say goodbye. I want to express my deep gratitude to all the supporters who have been a constant source of motivation and support.

“Your unwavering support, encouragement, and passion for the club have been incredibly valuable throughout my time here.

“Know that I gave my all, despite the constraints, along with the technical staff and players of this great club, for the players to finish the season with a title.

“The reality is that the field has decided otherwise, and as hard as it may be, we must accept it.”

Deep respect

The Tunisian international also thanked the players, the president, everyone associated with the club, and the people of Morocco for receiving him well.

He said he leaves the club with deep affection and made a special mention of the die-hard AS FAR supporters.

“I leave with memories and a deep affection for the club and its supporters. I am convinced that AS FAR will continue to grow and the club will remain in my heart,” he added.

“As a man of principle, I fear God. Out of respect for the supporters, I will not restrict the comments.

“I understand that some fans may take this news badly and may turn to insults but know that I leave with deep respect towards all of you. With all my gratitude, Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi.”
