Orlando Pirates confirm seven more signings after Sipho Mbule

Orlando Pirates have unveiled seven more signings for the upcoming 2025/26 Betway Premiership season that is expected to start in August.

This news comes just days after the club made a shock announcement that it secured the signature of troubled midfield maestro Sipho Mbule on a free transfer after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns.

The new signings include Richards Bay duo Nkosikhona Ndaba and exciting prospect Yanela Mbuthuma, speedy winger Tshepang Moremi from AmaZulu, Sinoxolo Kwayiba of Chippa United, and midfield workhorse Sihle Nduli from Stellenbosch FC.

Players to undergo screening

Pirates also secured the signatures of Masindi Nemtajela from Marumo Gallants and Tshepo Mashiloane from Baroka FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

“Today [Thursday] marks the first step of the 2025/2026 season for both the current and the new crop of players – as they undergo the first day of pre-season screenings,” the club said in a statement.

“After weeks of speculation and countless headlines across the football social media landscape, Orlando Pirates Football Club can officially confirm the signings of Yanela Mbuthuma [from Richards Bay], Masindi Nemtajela [Marumo Gallants], Tshepang Moremi [Amazulu], Nkosikhona Ndaba [Richards Bay], Sinoxolo Kwayiba [Chippa United], Tshepo Mashiloane [Baroka], and Sihle Nduli [Stellenbosch].

“The new crop of players will join their new teammates later this morning for day one of pre-season.”

Pre-season tour of Spain

Pirates have also identified former Marumo Gallants coach Abdeslam Ouaddou as Jose Riveiro’s replacement.

In the next few days, the Buccaneers will depart for their preseason tour of Spain.

On July 11, they will play their first game against Bolton Wanderers, a third division team in England.

After that, they will play the Cypriot team Pafos FC two days later, and on July 17, they will play the Canary Islands’ Spanish team Las Palmas.

Pirates will also take on Spanish second-tier side Granada in a final fixture on July 19.
