Orlando Pirates have announced that Vincent Pule has signed a new contract extension with the Buccaneers, penning a deal that will see the 31-year-old remain at the club until 2026, should the club exercise its option.
Pule, who has made 135 appearances for the Buccaneers, netting 31 goals and 11 assists, is currently in Rustenburg with the rest of the squad as they prepare for the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
His 2022/23 season was plagued by injury, limiting him to only 19 appearances, netting two goals.
Other Pirates players, the likes of Richard Ofori, Thabang Monare, Siyabonga Mpontshane and Ben Motshwari have also had their contracts renewed. Pirates will need a solid squad since they will be participating in the CAF Champions League next season.
The club has terminated the contract of Collins Makgaka, who failed to make an impression. Bucs players who were on loan such as Azola Tshobeni, will return to JDR on another season-long loan.
Boitumelo Radiopane returns to Cape Town Spurs on a season-long loan. Spurs will be campaigning in the Premier Soccer League after they were promoted via the relegation/promotion play-offs a month ago.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers coach and technical team are assessing Azola Matrose and Thabiso Sesane, who are currently in camp with the squad in Rustenburg.
Bongani Sam and Tshegofatso Mabasa are in discussions with Swallows FC to finalise a move to the Dube Birds.
Swallows announced on Sunday that they have appointed former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns coach Steve Komphela. – orlandopiratesfc.com
