Orlando Pirates sign in-demand Bafana striker Oswin Appollis

Orlando Pirates are sending a strong warning to their opponents ahead of the new Betway Premiership season after they announced the capture of the highly rated Bafana Bafana star Oswin Appollis from Polokwane City.

At Pirates, the 23-year-old Appollis will join his Bafana teammates Relebohile Mofokeng, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Patrick “Tito” Maswanganyi, Sipho Chaine, Thalente Mbatha, Tshegofatso Mabaso and Evidence Makgopa – and they will be expected to form a deadly combination for the Buccaneers in the league.

Pirates are showing serious intent after they signed seven top players last week.

After weeks of speculation, they officially confirmed the signings of Yanela Mbuthuma (from Richards Bay), Masindi Nemtajela (Marumo Gallants), Tshepang Moremi (Amazulu), Nkosikhona Ndaba (Richards Bay), Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United), Tshepo Mashiloane (Baroka), and Sihle Nduli (Stellenbosch).

Appollis was on the wanted list of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, but the Buccaneers have won the race to land his signature.

In February, it was reported that Chiefs were bringing the player to Naturena, but the move did not materialise.
