Percy Tau joins Njabulo Blom at Vietnamese club Nam Dinh FC

Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has also made a surprise move and joins South African compatriot Njabulo Blom at Vietnamese club Nam Dinh FC on a free transfer.

“Welcome, South African star Percy Muzi Tau, to join South Dinh Blue Steel,” the club stated.

“Nam Dinh Blue Steel Club would like to introduce the new player of the team, Percy Muzi Tau, the star from the South African team.

“Nam Dinh Blue Steel pursues the fiery attack gameplay. And Percy Tau’s presence promises to bring more explosive goalscoring moments for the team.”

Signed, sealed and delivered

Tau has signed a one-year deal with an option to extend. His move now ends the speculation that he would be returning to the Premier Soccer League, after being linked with Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly star had been without a club since leaving Qatari side Qatar SC after one season.

The 31-year-old now meets up with Blom, who joined the Vietnamese V. League in July this year after his loan spell at Chiefs from St. Louis City ended.

Nam Dinh have won the Vietnamese V. League 1 three times, including during the past season, and were runners-up twice. They also won the Vietnamese Cup in 2007.

The South African duo could make their debuts at their new home when Nam Dinh kick off their V. League 1 campaign against Hai Phong on Saturday afternoon.
